Minimalism is a practice to guide you in finding your freedom. Authentic, unparalleled freedom. There are many unnecessary things in our lives that take our focus, especially the ownership of excess material possessions. We live in the society of the 21st Century, where having more is perceived as better. This is linked to business, advertising, economy and most of all, money. People are influenced by celebrities who promote these products to us. Advertising tricks us into believing that we need these things in our lives.
You must remind yourself of this question before you buy, or invest in something; " Is it a need or a want? " Think deeply and logically about this before you decide. Will this thing create meaning or have value in your life?
We live in a world that is fast past, in demand, full of consumerism. Less truly is more. Spending and buying is not necessarily the key to happiness. It is fundamental to remember this. Do not be mislead by the media or advertising. The best things in life cannot be bought, such as relationships, feelings, sensations, activities, experiences and personal growth, etc.
You only have one life, and treasuring it is the best. Being minimalistic allows you to embrace the simplicity of life and all the specialty of it. Nature, freedom, passions etc.
Minimalism allows you to make your financial decisions more carefully, and intentionally.
